YB Tracker Information

INSTALLING THE TRACKER

The trackers are supplied in a pouch with an elastic cord and two velcro straps. The best place to install the device is on the push pit rail where it meets a vertical upright. The elastic strap is to be “baggage-tagged” around the rail and then the two velcro straps to secure it. The velcro straps are extremely strong and if fitted correctly should not require anything else to hold the tracker securely in place.

Sometimes it is not possible to find a corner so you may need to use one velcro strap and a cable tie. There are cable tie loops on the back of the pouch should you feel it is required. DO NOT use tape or cable ties around the front of the device as this can hold buttons down and cause problems.

Notes on installation timing:

It is very important that you install the tracker as soon as possible with a clear view of the sky. There are two reasons for this, firstly it allows YB tracking to see that everything is working correctly before the race and secondly if the tracker is activated and then left inside it will drain its battery much more quickly and potential cause problems during the race. If for some reason it is not possible to install the tracker soon after being activated, then you must leave the tracker upright with a view of the sky until you can install it properly.
